What You Will See on Statue Cruises

by Liberty Cruise - September 18, 2017

For those planning an NYC sightseeing trip, there is an endless selection of activities and attractions to see. Many love the double-decker bus tours provided around the city. These offer an easy way to get around the numerous attractions and make New York sightseeing easier. But what about checking out the city from the water? Statue cruises are one of the best ways to see the magnificent Big Apple from a different perspective and capture some amazing images to take home. A few things you can expect to see on one of the Ferry Cruises are included below.

Liberty Island

Located in the Upper New York Bay, Liberty Island is best known for being home to the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty National Monument, Liberty Island, and Ellis Island are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once known for being the best place to harvest oysters, today, travelers come to visit Lady Liberty and the museum. Taking a Statue Cruise is an ideal way to get a unique view of this historic spot. Don’t forget to check out Ellis Island and its museum while in the bay.

Manhattan Skyline from the Water

The Manhattan skyline is perhaps one of the most famous in the world. Iconic buildings, architectural wonders, and well-known bridges are just a few of the things you’ll notice and want pictures of while enjoying your ferry cruise. If you want to make the most of your trip, consider heading out at night and getting some evening images. Your Statue of Liberty experience will be complete as you take in the world-famous Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges from the water. Don’t forget to get the camera out and capture these highly memorable moments.

South Street Seaport

Your ferry cruise will take you by the historic South Street Seaport in Manhattan. Here you can snag pictures of some of the oldest architecture in New York. The area is known for the largest concentration of restored commercial buildings circa the 19th century. The famous Fulton Fish Market is a perfect spot to visit. Capture pictures of the many antique ships resting in the harbor while here. It’s an ideal place to hop off and check out the many markets, shops, and ships while New York City sightseeing.

If you want to visit the Big Apple and gain a unique perspective, make sure to get out and enjoy one of the many Statue Cruises available. If you aren’t sure how to get started, give us a call and we’ll discuss all the details with you.
