Is the Statue of Liberty Open to the Public?
Yes: The Statue of Liberty is open to the public every day except for Dec. 25.
When Did the Statue of Liberty Reopen After 9/11?
After shutting down after the World Trade Center was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, Liberty Island remained closed until Dec. 1, 2001. The monument remained closed until Aug. 3, 2004, when the pedestal reopened to the public, and the crown was reopened on July 4, 2009.
How Long Does the Liberty Cruise Take?
The Liberty Cruise Select takes two hours, the Express cruise takes an hour and 20 minutes, and the Saver cruise takes an hour and 45 minutes.
Can You Hop Off at Liberty State Park?
Yes! Our Express and Saver cruises stop at Liberty Harbor, adjacent to Liberty State Park, so if you’d like to hop off here to explore, you’re free to do so.
