1. Is Smoking or Drinking Allowed Aboard the Boat?

Smoking and drinking are not allowed on any of our vehicles.

2. Do Your Routes Cover All of the Famous Attractions?

Of course! On our cruises, you’ll see everything there is to see in the harbor, including the Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan skyline, and Ellis Island. Each tour is led by a native and experienced guide for an informative and fun experience.

3. How long do Statue of Liberty tours take on average?

Our Statue of Liberty Cruise takes approximately 1 hour.

4. How Often Are Departures?

Cruises depart several times a day. For precise times, check out our cruise schedule.

5. Can I get out of the cruise on Liberty Island?

Our cruises don’t dock at Liberty Island, but our routes pass right in front of the island, close enough for you to take the best photos.

6. Are your boats handicap accessible?

The Manhattan II is wheelchair accessible on the first deck only. Bathrooms aren’t wheelchair accessible. If the weather is high tide, we will board from the upper deck which doesn’t have wheelchair accessibility. For other boats, there is no wheelchair accessible.

7. Is there parking at Pier 40?

There is parking available near our departure terminal. The parking facility is owned by a private parking company. For more information, visit Pier 40 Parking.

8. Can I Bring Food or Drinks With Me on the Cruise?

No, food and drinks are not allowed on the boat. There will be refreshments available for purchase on board.

9. What Languages Are Available on the Tours?

All of our tours are in English.

10. What happens if it rains while I am on the cruise?

Our cruises operate rain or shine. We will provide all passengers with a poncho for rain protection.

11. Is there storage on the cruise for strollers or wheelchairs?

Unfortunately, there is no designated area where strollers and wheelchairs can be stationed. They can be left at the pier. However, Liberty Cruise does not assume responsibility for any belongings at any time.

12. Will I get to an overcrowded boat?

We adhere to vessel max capacity. Once the limit has been reached, we don’t allow anyone on board.

13. Will the cruise wait for me when I get there late?

Our Statue of Liberty cruises depart on a strict departure schedule. We recommend you arrive a half an hour before your scheduled departure time. We don’t wait for any reason.

14. How can I get VIP access to the sky deck / upper deck if I bought a Liberty Cruise standard ticket?

Once onboard you will have the option to pay an additional fee of $20 to upgrade to a Liberty Cruise premium ticket to get VIP access to the sky deck / upper deck on the cruise.

15. What is the food selection available for purchase onboard?

On our Statue of Liberty cruise, food and drinks are available for purchase including hot dogs, muffins, chips, cookies, popcorn, candies, sodas, juices, coffee, tea, and more.

16. Are restrooms clean on the boat?

Yes. Our Liberty Cruise staff works diligently about cleaning to make sure that the restroom is clean.

1. How Do I Get to the Liberty Cruise?

Our cruises depart from Pier 40, located at 353 West St, New York, NY 10014.

2. Do I Get Discounts if I Purchase the Tickets Online?

Yes! You can save up to 48% if you book your ticket in advance on our website.

3. How Far Ahead Should I Make Arrangements?

It is never too early to organize your trip; therefore, we recommend that you book as early as possible.

4. What Forms of Payment Does Liberty Cruise NYC Accept?

If you book online, we are able to accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal. If you come to our visitor center or wish to purchase your tickets from our uniformed street agents, you will be able to use cash, travelers’ checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

5. What Should I Do if I Don’t Receive My Confirmation Email After I Make a Purchase Online?

After your complete your purchase, you’ll be redirected to a confirmation page that has your authorization number on it. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please print this confirmation page, or just call our local number when you arrive in NYC and we will find your order based on the last four digits of your credit card number. After that, you can exchange your online booking confirmation for a boarding ticket at any of our visitor center locations or from a uniformed ticket agent.

6. Are Tour Tickets Purchased Online Refundable?

No, tickets purchased for our tours online are non-refundable. However, our tickets are valid for up to 12 months after the date of purchase, so you’ll have plenty of time to use them. Special event tickets are for one time use only for the specified event date.

7. Are Tickets Required for Children?

Child tickets are available for kids ages 4-12. Children aged 3 years and under may travel free of charge. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

8. Are Tickets Transferable?

No, our tickets are not transferable.

9. How Old Does a Child Have to Be to Go on a Cruise?

You can bring children of any age on our cruises.

10. Can I Get On the Liberty Cruise with a Printout of My Order Confirmation?

Answer: No. Reservation is required before boarding. Please present your reservation confirmation, digital or print, to board the cruise

11. When Does the Clock on the Timed Passes Start?

You can select from 2 options at time of purchase:
1) Specific Start Date - the pass is activated on your selected start date or time of purchase (if selected start date is the same day as purchase).
2) Flexible Start Date - the pass is activated when your tickets are scanned by our staff.

Groups and Charters

1. What Is a Charter, and How Much Does a Charter Cost?

A charter allows you to lease our vessel and driver for a private tour. This is an option for when a group of people wants to go on a customized trip with their own tour guide. Chartering is generally a very economical way to travel as a group. Charter prices will depend on the route, the group size, as well as the date and time requested. 2. What Kinds of Vehicles Can Be Chartered?

Our sightseeing vessels can accommodate 300 passengers.

3. Who Pilots Your Vehicles?

We take pride in the knowledge and professionalism of our crews. Our boats are piloted by some of the most experienced New York Harbor captains, all of whom are intimately familiar with the local waterways.

4. Do You Offer a Student Discount?

Unfortunately, we do not offer discounted student tickets to individuals. However, please inquire about our preferred rates for school groups with our team at groups@libertycruise.nyc.
